    Networking

I love meeting new people: I think you are rich with your contacts, and the more you are open and you meet new people, the more you realize how small the world is. And that is fascinating.

That's why I am so passionate about networking: I belong to many groups and business networking associations in the UK, in France, and on the Internet.

I have developed a significant network of contacts all over Europe being an active member of online business networks and alumni associations.

My favourite networking tool/website is Linkedin.

    Team Management

Class co-representative, Msc at Ecole Centrale Paris (30 people)
The other person was 45 years old, and we were both elected with the more votes, only a couple of weeks after the start of the courses.
The average age was 35 which was very rich and so interesting as I had to manage understand the expectations of everybody and to manage them when I had to negotiate with professors and the Dean of the program…

Team Leader, MBA Sciences Po Paris (4 people)
Team Leader during the Consulting Mission (we were a group of 5 people)
Managed the relationship between our team and Booz Allen & Hamilton (SVP and Senior Consultants)
The situation was very tensed and difficult, causing a lot of stress to everyone… and a lot of conflicts.
It was immensely useful as it taught me how to manage objections, bad temper, under qualified person and gain a consensus within a team.

Market Manager, France Telecom UK (1 person)
I managed one person directly: I was responsible for everything except from all the administrative work.
It was one more time a difficult situation as the level of work was very high and my objectives for my team were ambitious (but doable). She quickly realized that she was not made for those kind of environments, and for this job.
I learn to be directive: my kind of management is the delegation mode. First because I like giving responsibilities to people as I like being given a lot.
But she needed to be told what to do, and especially to check constantly where she stood and why she did not manage to do a specific task.
I am proud and satisfy because: even though some moments were very tough, I managed to correct the situation and to make her do a good job and done in time.

President, Dauphine London Alumni Association (8 people, 100+ members)
Since June 2004, I am the President of the Bureau in London of the Dauphine Alumni Association (7 people in the bureau, more than 100 identified fellow alumni)
My responsibilities are to come to a consensus, fix reasonable targets/goals and make things go forward, motivate all the team member.
It is not an easy task as we are all professionals with demanding jobs: most of the team members travel for business and occupe senior level positions in companies such as American Express or Disney.
It is critical to spend a lot of time motivating everybody in order to make the bureau achieve its goals.
