They managed to enhance the functionalities again: their business model is clearer now, and I think it is the right move as members still don't have to pay to be visible and to build and access their network.
Business Model - The "heavy users" will pay for:
* advertising (even though I do not think it is very efficient as it is now)
* job posting (to advertise for an open position and leverage the Linkedin network based on recommandations)
* enhance communication facilities (professional users who use Linkedin extensively, to find business partners, prospects, clients)
* premium customer service (?)
