EFMA's Online financial services 2007: great audience & excellent line up

Logo_efmaI came back on Friday from the excellent EFMA - Online finance 2007 event in Barcelona. The EFMA gathered about 100 delegates from all over the world, mostly from Europe, but also from Scandinavia, the Middle East and Asia.

The audience is almost entirely made of senior bankers, usually in charge of the Direct Channels, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking or Innovation for their bank.

My presentation: Banking 2.0: UGC, a Big opportunity, not a major Risk
I was extremely pleased and honoured to speak in front of my peers, and be part of the excellent line-up. My key goal for ma presentation was to share my passion for social media, and be as inspirational as possible.

Based on my experience, I strongly believe that User Generated Content and Social Media are a major opportunity for us, bankers.

As requested by the delegates, please find below my slides.

Indeed, it gives us an excellent opportunity to show our clients that we listen, and we respond to them. With the web 2.0, the power is in people's hands and their expectations have changed: If we want to develop long-term, trusted, relationships with our clients we need to show we care.

During my presentation, I focused mainly on web 2.0, social  networking, blogging, virtual worlds, and briefly about personal finance and social lending.

Online & Mobile Award: Piraeus Bank's Instant Cash service
Instantcash_2 A selection committee made of Bank of Bank of Ireland, Nationwide, Rabobank, Unicredit and the EFMA team shortlisted 4 banks for their innovative solutions:

* SNS Bank for their "web 2.0" online application for mortgages,
* Piraeus Bank for their Instant Cash service,
* Hansabankas for their "wPKI" mobile security authentification,
* Banco Best for their web 2.0 online website and their virtual sales force.

They all presented their innovative product/service. I woud like to congratulate all of them and especially the winner, Piraeus Bank and their Instant Cash service which enables their clients to send and collect cash from their ATMs without a card.
